What a great video. Some of those stats are very interesting. I found the marriage statistic to be crazy. 1 in 8 meet online to get married in the future? Insane.

Thanks for posting the video. I am not one to get all worked up by presentations like this that are meant to invoke emotion...but it was pretty awe inspiring to see how the net is growing.

Hey there LG, thanks for the comment. I understand your point. It may not play so well in the PC crazy world we live in these days where it's frowned upon to acknowledge such cultural differences. One to think about, I might discuss this a bit more in another post. Thanks again for the comment.

The video is thought provoking that's for sure.

Raw numbers lead to options, but they aren't the story alone. I'm a westerner, but I've lived in Asia, worked with Asians, and I've also gone to university (for a year) there, so please understand I'm not slashing -- I'm commenting on my experiences.

China and India have their own distinct education cultures. Basically their systems teach them how to answer the teacher's questions (maybe), and teach them how to cram last month for exams. It's what they know and what they have to do to survive. (Europe was traditionally like thisk but is moving away.)

What schools do not teach is how to THINK and more importantly THINK CREATIVELY.

The Economist this week has a quote saying, "90% of Chinese engineering graduates are not up to western standards". It's not that they are dumb (dear lord no), it's that their system is set up differently. If they are going to compete following western rules and for western companies, then they'll have to learn a lot on the job.
